shutterstock_36402259When it comes to turning back the clock, there are plenty of options out there.  From the traditional facelift to injectables like Botox and dermal fillers, it seems as though there’s more choice than ever to try and get the smooth, youthful skin you’re after.

While all of these procedures are effective at treating wrinkles and fine lines, many patients often make their decisions based on which results will last the longest.  After all, with today’s hectic schedules, not everyone can afford to take the time for regular maintenance and upkeep.

If you’re interested in any classic anti-aging procedures and treatments, take a look at how long you can expect each one to last:

  • Botox: If you want to treat the appearance of forehead wrinkles – as well as enjoy a subtle eyebrow lift – Botox could be a great alternative. This botulinum toxin injection numbs nerve signals, which causes skin to relax and appear smoother.  Although Botox is much more affordable and non-invasive, results typically last around three to four months.
  • Dermal Fillers: For clients who are suffering from fat loss around the mouth and cheeks, dermal fillers might be a better option.  Dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, which provides instant volume to the treatment area while encouraging collagen production.  Results from most dermal fillers last between nine to twelve months.
  • Facelifts: Traditional facelifts may be more invasive than the other two options, but results last much longer (usually at least five to ten years). During a facelift procedure, Dr. Correa will make incisions in hidden areas (e.g. around the hairline) and tighten and lift things from the inside, while simultaneously removing extra skin and wrinkles.
