If you’ve been thinking about undergoing a breast augmentation procedure, you might be curious about the best time to do it. What happens when you have plans to have a baby in the future? Can you still undergo a breast augmentation procedure immediately after having a child?
As it turns out, there isn’t an ideal age to have a breast augmentation – more like an ideal phase in your life. Here are a few factors that can help you determine if now is the right time to undergo a breast augmentation:
- Prior to childbearing: If your plans for childbearing are a few years in the future, it’s likely you’re at an ideal age for breast augmentation. It’s not recommended for women to undergo the procedure if they’re planning on trying to get pregnant.
- After breastfeeding: It’s recommended that women wait at least six months after finishing breastfeeding before having a breast augmentation procedure performed. While women can breastfeed their children after a breast augmentation, it is generally not recommended to have an augmentation immediately prior to childbearing or breastfeeding.
In addition to the above caveats, it’s important for any breast augmentation candidate to be in a healthy stage in her life. You shouldn’t smoke or take blood thinner medications, nor should you have unrealistic expectations for your breast augmentation procedure. You should be older than 18.
